A new redaction of the Nice Classification

On the 1st of January 2017, the newest redaction of the Nice Classification will enter into force. The 11th redaction must be therefore taken into account for all trade mark applications filed from that date.

The Classification is updated in every 5 years – this time, the wordings of 15 Class headings and hundreds of terms have been changed, also over 300 new terms have been added. Several goods and services have been relocated to another Class, one of the reasons being to separate medicinal and non-medicinal goods in Classes 3 and 5.
