Estonia’s Industrial Property Statistics 2017
The Estonian Patent Office has published its 2017 industrial property statistics on the processing of applications for legal protection and on the corresponding registers.
Amongst other data the reports show that in 2017, the total amount of patent applications filed was 41, whereas 4 of them were submitted via the PCT route and 37 were national applications. 1789 European Patents were carried into the register and simultaneously 852 were deleted from the register. The number of utility model applications was 55, all of them submitted as national applications.
A total of 1272 national trade mark applications were filed, 1055 by Estonian persons. An additional 1260 trade marks were designated to Estonia via the Madrid system. During the year 2017, 1411 national trade mark decisions were made by the Estonian Patent Office – 1122 of them were registration decisions. Concerning trade marks designated to Estonia, the numbers were respectively 1000 and 911.
The number of national industrial design registration applications submitted was 46, whereas 88 additional design registration requests were submitted via the Hague system.
